Article Highlights East Haven Early Childhood Collaborative’s Report on the Status of Young Children

The East Haven Courier published an article about the East Haven Early Childhood Collaborative’s (EHECC) report, “The Status of Young Children in East Haven: Are They Ready for Success in School?”  According to the article, local and state officials joined educators and community activists for the unveiling of the study, "the first step in developing a strategy to improve early childhood education for East Haven youth."  EHECC Coordinator Paul Perelli underscored the importance of public discussion and strong parental involvement in children’s education.

The Courier offered readers an opportunity to share their thoughts on East Haven’s assets for youth and the areas in which the town falls short by posting a comment online.  These comments would then be forwarded to the East Haven Early Childhood Collaborative for use in an “asset mapping” and brainstorming process.
