Event: Three on a Seesaw: Balancing Early Care and Education, Families, and the Economy

The Connecticut Association for Human Services will release the 2008-2009 Connecticut Kids Count Data Book and hold a public forum on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 12:30 – 1:30 at the Legislative Office Building, Room 2E in Hartford.  Forum participants will comment on early care and education policies and programs as supports for both early development and working parents and the implications for Connecticut during this economic downturn.

For more information, contact Jude Carroll, 860-951-2212, ext. 240.

Policy Briefs on the Governor's Proposed Budget

CT Voices for Children has produced four policy briefs on the Governor’s budget proposal.  These briefs examine early care and education, HUSKY health care, low-income supports and family economic security and state revenues.

Also available on the CT Voices website are spreadsheets that summarize changes in funding over time in key agencies and programs serving children and families. These summary sheets compare the Governor's proposed Fiscal Year 2010 budget revisions to funding levels in previous years.
