Public/Private Partnerships

Through the Discovery initiative, the Memorial Fund collaborates with several public and private organizations to improve early childhood outcomes for Connecticut's children, birth through age eight. Currently we are engaged in the partnerships described below.

Community Planning Partnership

Through the Office of Early Childhood, the State provides funding to match foundation support for Discovery community collaboratives to develop and implement comprehensive birth-to-age-eight community plans.

Connecticut Data Collaborative

The Connecticut Data Collaborative is working to improve the quality of and access to policy-related data in the state. With the support of Discovery community coordinators, the Collaborative developed an Early Childhood Portal to provide user-friendly access to local and state level data.

Campaign for Grade Level Reading

The Campaign for Grade Level Reading is a national initiative committed to ensuring children from all income levels are reading proficiently by the end of third grade.

Parent Trust Fund

Since 2007, the Memorial Fund has matched State funding for the Parent Trust Fund to support training opportunities for parents in civic leadership skills to improve the health, safety, and learning of children.

CT 3 to 3 Partnership

The statewide Age 3 to Grade 3 leadership team includes representatives from the Office of Early Childhood, EASTCONN, CT Association of Schools, local school districts, and the Memorial Fund. The team created the Age 3 to Grade 3 institute to align practices and improve learning for children in preschool through 3rd grade.
